Don’t look now - but my ears are showing

Boy, do I feel like a new woman! I got my hair cropped short yesterday - it’s above my ears. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

I have fine hair, so it just lays there as it approaches chin length. I had been wearing it in a boring bob over the summer. Then this fall, I found a cute picture of a choppy, head-hugging bob. Well, I tried 3 different times to get it cut that way. These sylists just couldn’t get it right. So, I ended up with something that was not a bob and it wasn’t an easy to manage short cut either. I wound up just slicking it down and tucking it behind my ears.

After two weeks of wearing it that way, I decided that it was time to return to the short hair that I love. I had just gone last week to try for that head-hugging bob, so I couldn’t logically spend money on a haircut so soon. On Craigslist.com I found a posting for free haircuts. They were conducting some finally tests for an advanced haircutting class. So, I printed out the dates and times.

After school yesterday, the kids and I loaded up in the van and headed that way. They kids were starving, so I did swing through the Golden Arches and spent $7 on an afterschool snack for my 3 munchkins. Then we plopped in chairs for haircuts. Ian just sat back and watched. The instructor watched closely as we got our cuts. She stepped in when needed. We all got the best haircuts - EVER. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am. I did tip each of the stylists. So for the snack and the three haircuts, I spent $21… not bad!

Thankfully, hubby wasn’t too mad that I chopped my hair off. I think he sensed it was coming.

But watch out world, my ears are showing, and I feel much sassier now!
