Keepin’ up
You would think that as a stay-at-home mom I would have an organized and super clean home. Well, I don’t.
I am trying my best to do better in 2009.
Laundry is a particular area where I fail miserably. I tend to get the dirty clothes washed in a timely manner - it’s folding them and putting them away where things go off-kilter. A true mountain of clothes seems to develop and it’s a daily ritual to dig through the pile in search of a matching pair of socks for one of the kids.
I have tried signing up for daily emails from the Flylady website. But just reading her suggestions, much less following them with the action items, exhausted me. I think I might try utilizing that again.
Tim and I agreed that one big item for our family in 2009 is to establish more independence/responsibility for our kids. I mean, they can help a lot more around the house and do more for themselves. Last night I had Conner and Sofie help me make their lunches for school. Boy, did they whine and protest - but it sure was helpful to me - and in the long run, it will help them too.
I’ve about finished my morning cup of coffee, so I guess I’d better shut off the computer and get busy cleaning my house.
